Member Add Miscellaneous

1 . Click the Member Add Miscellaneous icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be found on the Members page > Steel section.

Alternative: Invoke Member Add Miscellaneous using the Find Tool by searching the command name and clicking the icon, which is pictured above.

2 . The Material Type Selection window opens. On it is a listing of the types of material that you can add.

Alternative 1: Select the material type you wish to add and select OK.

Alternative 2: Press the Cancel button to end the operation.

3 . The status line prompts, "Locate Point". Various Locators become active along with Locate - Pan - Return mouse bindings. Select the appropriate Locate option. Left-click (Locate) the first point of the miscellaneous member, where the point location target ( ) is at.

Alternative: Right-click (Return) or press the Esc button to end the operation.

4 . The status line prompts, "Locate point."  Position the point location target ( ) where you want the miscellaneous member's second work point, then left-click ( Locate ).

Note : For " Flat plate layout " or " Bent plate layout ," continue to locate points, then middle-click ( OK ) when you are ready to go to step 5.

5 . An edit window opens. On it are specifications for the type of material you selected in step 2.

Alternative 1: After you are done changing or reviewing settings, left-click on the 'OK' button to finish adding the member.

Alternative 2: Press the Cancel button to end the operation.

6 . The status line prompts, "Locate Point" allowing you to continue adding miscellaneous members by repeating steps 3-5.

Alternative 1 : Middle-click (Repeat) to add another miscellaneous member with the exact same attributes as the previously added member.

Alternative 2 : Right-click ( Return ) if you are done adding miscellaneous members.
